I don''t even know how to thank Deborah and her teaching techniques. Sadie, our Bernese Mountain Dog had a big fear of people when she was about 10 weeks old. We had taken her to the vet and let me tell you, you''d of thought they we killing her, she was yelping and crying, flipped on her back and so scared. We knew how big of a dog she was going to be so we could not have this kind of behavior, nor did we want her to be scared. Our vet recommended we call Deborah. We called her and she was at our home the next day. We had no idea how to correct this for Sadie and she taught us how to work with her get her attention so people could pet her and love her. Now, Sadie is a big ham. She goes running up to people leans on them or rolls over on her back to have her belly scratched. We also have been through 3 group classes which Sadie loved. She actually would get excited in the car when we were coming up the street.

Before I took Deborah''s Growly Class, I had vowed never to take my two dogs down to the Ruston Way waterfront again because it was just TOO STRESSFUL for all of us. Lots of pulling on the leash, lunging, swearing. I didn''t want to have him out in public if he (and I) couldn''t behave. In Deborah''s class we learned many techniques to get our dog''s attention on US we also learned terrific leash management skills so that we could divert potentially problematic situations before they even began. Now, I take both my dogs down to the waterfront once a week, walk them at the same time, and have a FANTASTIC time! We can walk past other dogs with NO PROBLEM, and I have the confidence to know that I can deal with any situation that might come up. One of the last times we were there, two different people commented: "What well-trained dogs you have!" I would highly recommend Deborah''s classes to anyone.

We adopted a lovely one-year old German Shepherd who was professionally trained to ignore other dogs. We walk daily in the North End, however, and she developed leash anxiety when other dogs barked at her, loose dogs attacked her (twice) and friendly owners didn''t comply with my requests NOT to meet and greet. By age three, Regina had developed "fight or flight" instincts, which made our daily walks in the neighborhood nerve-wracking for everybody! Deborah came to the house and gave us two private lessons, teaching me how to anticipate and defuse Regina''s fears by taking control and offering positive reinforcement when we saw other dogs. I agreed to take her to Deborah''s "growly class." I was really fearful of what Regina might do to the other dogs, especially the small ones, but Deborah taught us how to manage our dogs.

When we’re out and about with our dog, people are always telling us how well behaved he is. We usually just smile and agree – yes, he is a wonderful dog. Sometimes they go on to say that they could never, ever get their dog to behave so well. They might add that they can’t take their dog out in public because he pulls so hard on the leash, or jumps all over people, or growls at other dogs. When they say something like that, I hand them one of Deborah’s cards, and tell them to give her a call. I’m convinced that Deborah can help anyone have the loving, well trained, well behaved dog they’ve always wanted, a dog that’s a pleasure to be with.

Deborah must have known we desperately needed help with our little pug/pom when she stopped her car and asked if we needed doggy school. Did we ever! I am a first time dog owner and did not realize that training is essential for responsible dog ownership. We took 2 sessions of doggy kindergarten and had a private lesson with Deborah, it has made a HUGE difference! Our little \"Devil-dog\" is becoming the angel that I heard this breed can be. We work with Maxwell every day and he is becoming smarter and more obedient all the time. Thank you Deborah, you''re awesome!

Deborah came to our home for private sessions. We knew within 5 minutes of Deborah walking into our home and interacting with Prince we had made the right choice in trainers. Her easy to execute techniques have given us a better behaved dog. She''s magical!

I just had to e-mail you and tell you thank you so much for all the training you have taught me. A little later I went out to the garage to get some things out of my car. I never even saw Libby behind me and before I knew it, she was running out the garage door and into the driveway. I said "sit" and that stopped her, but for only a second or two. As I approached her she would run even further, so I did exactly what you had taught us to do - I acted like a complete fool and slapped my legs, clapped and said Libby, Libby, Libby, in a playful higher pitched voice. She responded, but not totally, so I did it again and this time I said "Lets go" and started running towards the back door(she had now made her way out into the street. She saw me running and came running after me and ran right into the house when I opened the door. I knew better than to try to grab her and it worked.

Deborah is simply amazing. She has an incredible technique for calming and focusing the dog I''d never seen anything like it. Within a few minutes, she had our young, energetic dog lying calmly, focused on her every move. Perhaps even more important, she has an equally calming and focusing effect on me I had worried that my pitbull-mix was "too much dog" for me, but seeing Deborah work her magic convinced me that he''s a great dog. I have simply never seen a technique as effective as the Zen approach, and I wish every dog could benefit from Deborah''s calm, loving technique.

Behavior Problems
Nobody told us that smaller dogs need bigger work! Mabel, our Yorkie-Chinese Crested mix, joined us eight days after her 6-week birthday. It didn''t take long for us to realize that everything we thought we knew about dogs from the days when we had Bassett hounds didn''t apply to this wired, willful little gal. We knew if we didn''t get some help, our terrier would grow to be a terror. Thankfully, Deborah came to the rescue, first with a house call, and then with Puppy Kindergarten. She''s helped us understand small dogs, and her approach is working. We''ve concentrated on basics in Puppy Kindergarten, and the most important of these is recall Mabel got out the front door recently, and tore down the driveway as fast as her 4-inch legs would carry her. There was no way anybody would ever catch her! Julie used Deborah''s techniques to call Mabel, and the little gal stopped in her tracks, did an about-face, and ran back to Julie like nothing else mattered! Recall training is something

I am so amazed at Deborah everytime I go to class.(Adult Obedience)Tootsie is a 2 year old pembroke welsh corgi, who had no formal kind of training. She was also not very well socialized. The first class Tootsie sat outside the circle, behind me and refused to go near the other dogs. Every lesson she became a little more brave. Now she runs and plays with the others and sits inside the circle. I thought I had ruined my dog, by babying her, but with Deborahs help and training, Tootsie is a normal, outgoing dog. Thank you Deborah.
